The driver will pick you up in the morning from your Kigali accommodation and take you south to Nyungwe Forest National Park. During your lunch break, you will visit the Rwandan national museum and the king’s palace in Nyanza during your layover in Butare. Dinner and sleep at Nyungwe Top Hill View (Mid-range) or Gisakura Visitors’ Center (Budget).

Day 2: Canopy Walk and Chimpanzee Trek

After breakfast, get a briefing and head into the forest to look for the lively and playful guys in Nyungwe Forest. The chimpanzees bounce from tree to tree while laughing and chatting, making them easy to see. Typically, chimpanzee tracking takes three hours. After consuming your packed lunch, you will head back to the base to rendezvous with your driving guide.

You will go on a guided nature walk along the well-known canopy walkway bridge, a swing bridge that is 50 meters long and suspended from big trees, after eating your packed lunch. After connecting to your lodging to enjoy a free evening, you will be able to observe the breathtaking rainforest from above and spot animals moving about below you. This is a two-hour hike.

After supper, make the same trip back to your resort to spend the night.
