Gorilla Leisure Lodge
Gorilla leisure lodge: is a newly built luxury accommodation found in Rushaga gorilla trekking sector of the chilly Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the Southern part of Uganda. The lodge is set near the headquarters of Bwindi National Park, just 10 minutes away from gorilla tracking and briefing point. The lodge is business friendly and in a perfect base to tourists, travelers and holiday makers for safari adventures and relaxation to explore the park with its breathtaking views, soft breezes, rustling trees and the forest canopy. One can be at the lodge by road transport from Kampala / Entebbe which takes about 9-10 hours’ drive and 1-2 hours flight from Entebbe international Airport or kajjansi airfield to the close Kisoro airstrip then few minutes’ drives to be transferred to the lodge.
Gorilla Leisure lodge is comprised of 12 elegant and luxury en suite rooms ranging from deluxe singles for individuals, doubles as well as family cottages overlooking the forest canopy that reflects African traditional building style with modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated, elevated with a raised platform and furnished with en suite private facilities of flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, complimentary bottled water, bathtubs, mosquito nets, flat-screen TVs, hair driers, free toiletries, white duvets and pillows, extinguishers and many more facilities. Rooms have terraces and sitting areas and wooden balconies, you relax while enjoying the stunning breathtaking view of the canopy forest and surrounding areas. The lodge has fire places where guests relax and share experiences about the safaris not only that it also provides warmth to the guests during night. Gorilla Leisure lodge offers different services and facilities which include A restaurant that serves different Menu both local and continental food that meets clients appetite served by well trained, friendly and organized staff. Meals include; A Breakfast overlooking the forest, Lunch and three course dinner both in and out door dinner. Bush Breakfast are also served while enjoying the morning sunrises and Morning Breezes and bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky.

Bwindi Forest Impenetrable national park is the best and most visited national park in South western part of Uganda in Kanungu district. The park is the home of more endangered mountain gorillas over 19 gorilla groups in the park. The park occupies the total area of 330.8 square kilo meters. There are more than 600 mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park of which 19 gorilla families are habituated. The park consists of different 4 sectors namely; Nkuringo sector, Rushaga Sector, Buhoma sector and Ruhijha sectors where gorilla trekking takes place.
The lodge is found in Rushaga Sector which is the home of Five gorilla families namely; Mishaya, kahungye, Nshongi, Busingye and Bweza. Rushaga sector also has 2 gorilla habituation experience families of Bukingi and bushaho. Rushaga can also be tracked while staying in Nkuringo location. Rushaga sector is the best and most visited sector with beautiful view of the forest canopy compared to other sectors thus making up Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
Gorilla permit in Bwindi is at 700$. There are more than seven hundred and eighty-six (786) mountain gorillas in the whole world. Uganda holds close to half of their total population, and the majority of them live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, whereas the others are found in Mgahinga National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has different accommodations in all sectors; Budget, Mid-range and luxury accommodation.
The best place to visit Bwindi impenetrable national park is Feb, March, June, July, September, October and December.
