DAY 12: TRIP END AND CANOPY WALK Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: MASAI MARA FROM NAIROBI
The first day of your safari will involve the lengthy seven- to eight-hour trip from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, to Masai Mara. At 8 am, the guide will pick you up from Nairobi, either from the airport or your lodging, and you will start your drive to Masaai Mara, stopping along the way for stretches, lunch, snacks, and restroom breaks. After arriving at Masai Mara in the evening, you will settle into your lodging, unwind after the lengthy drive, eat dinner, and spend the night there.
Day 2: Masai Mara’s first game drive
GAME DRIVE: You will start the day with a fantastic breakfast at your lodging, and then you will go on a game drive around a section of the park to see the animals, which includes buffaloes, lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and more. The entire game drive will end at 5 p.m., after which you will have a break to rest and eat lunch whenever you choose. You will return to your lodging for dinner and overnight rest following the game drive.
DAY 3: MASAAI MARA’S SECOND GAME DRIVE
GAME DRIVE: Just like the day before, you will wake up early to a delicious breakfast at your lodging before spending the day on a game drive through a different area of the park to witness additional animals. The game drive will conclude at 5 p.m., and you will have another opportunity to rest and have lunch whenever you choose. You will return to your lodging for dinner and overnight rest following the game drive.
TRANSFER TO UGANDA ON DAY 4
TRANSFER TO UGANDA: After breakfast and an early start, you will depart your lodging. After that, you’ll go to the airport to board your aircraft to Uganda, stopping in Kisumu for immigration processing. After passing through security at the Entebbe International Airport in Uganda in the middle of the morning, our guide will meet you. Following lunch, you travel to Kampala for a brief city tour before retiring to your lodging for supper and the night.
DAY 5: KIBALE TRANSFER
TRANSFER TO KIBALE: You will leave your lodging, eat breakfast, and start the four to five-hour trip to Kibale National Park. Early in the afternoon, you will arrive in Fort Portal Town, where you will have lunch before touring the Amabere caves and the king’s castle. Following the trip, you will go to Kibaale National Park, where you will arrive in approximately thirty minutes. Once there, you will check into your lodging, change, eat dinner, and spend the night sleeping.
Day 6: Trekking in Chimpanzee
CHIMPANZEE TREKKING: After an early morning meal at your lodging, you will proceed to the park’s headquarters for a trekking briefing that will cover the rules and what to anticipate from the chimpanzee trekking experience. After that, you and your trekking guide will go into the jungle to locate the chimpanzees. The total trip will take approximately four to five hours, including an hour spent with the chimpanzees. You will return to your lodging for lunch and afternoon relaxation following your hiking hours. You can visit the craters on a nature walk in the park if you’re up for it. At your lodging, you will eat dinner and spend the night.
DAY 7: GOING TO ELIZABETH QUEEN NATIONAL PARK
TRANSFER TO QUEEN: After breakfast at your lodging, you will depart and go to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is located south of Kibaale. You will reach there in the early afternoon. After checking into your lodging and eating lunch in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will have a thrilling boat ride down the water channel, where you will get the chance to witness a variety of aquatic species and birds. You will return to your lodging for dinner and a night’s sleep following the boat ride.
DAY 8: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK AND GAME DRIVE
GAME DRIVE: Get up at five in the morning, get a breakfast, and then go on a morning game drive in the park to observe the variety of species there, such as zebras, impalas, kobs, warthogs, and tree-climbing lions.
GOING TO BWINDI: Around 12 p.m., your game drive will come to a close. You will then return to your lodging for lunch, check out, and travel south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In the evening, you will arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, check into your lodging, eat dinner, and then retire for the night.
DAY 9: TREKKING ON MOUNTAIN GORILLA
GORILLA TREKKING: You will receive a gorilla trekking briefing at the park’s offices by 7 am after an early breakfast. After learning more about the walk during the session, a ranger will be assigned to guide your party of eight people into the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas. After your trekking trip, you will return to your lodging to freshen up, have a late lunch, and then unwind for the evening. The total experience could last up to seven hours, including an hour spent with the mountain gorillas. You can observe the many cultures of the locals by taking a community stroll around the park if you’d like. At your lodging, you will eat dinner and spend the night.
TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI ON DAY 10
GETTING TO LAKE BUNYONYI: You will get up early, eat breakfast at your lodging, and then check out. In the middle of the morning, you will reach Lake Bunyonyi after continuing southward. After checking into your lodging, you’ll go for a nature walk close to the lake. You will eat lunch following the nature walk, and then you will paddle the lake to explore its 29 islands while taking in the stunning birdlife. You will return to your lodging for dinner and a night’s sleep following your canoeing adventure.
TRANSFER TO RWANDA, NYUNGWE, DAY 11
TRANSFER TO NEW ZEAL: Following breakfast, you will depart the lodging and travel to Kigali, Rwanda. In the middle of the morning, you will arrive in Kigali, have a quick snack, and then head south to Nyungwe National Park, stopping for lunch along the way. In the evening, you will arrive in Nyungwe National Park, check into your lodging, eat dinner, and then retire for the night.
DAY 12: FINAL TRIP AND CANOPY WALK
CANOPY WALK: After an early breakfast at your lodging, you will join the others for a two-hour canopy walk atop the magnificent Nyungwe forest.
DEPARTURE: Following the walk, you will depart from your lodging and go back to Kigali, stopping for lunch along the way. When you get to Kigali in the evening, the guide will drop you off anywhere you choose to be in the city.
