Experience trekking with golden monkeys in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

The Mgahinga Gorilla National Park offers golden monkey trekking, an exciting and dynamic experience that begins at park headquarters with a briefing on expectations, laws, and regulations. Following the briefing, you will begin your jungle journey with a knowledgeable guide. Depending on the location of the golden monkeys, which prefer to roam around in quest of food, this could take anything from 30 minutes to three hours. Because golden monkeys are small and do not leave obvious signs of their whereabouts from the previous day, unlike mountain gorillas, you will need to keep an eye out for fresh bamboo shoot and leaf remnants when trekking with them. You will be able to spend an hour in the natural environment of the golden monkey colony after they are identified. During this time, you will be able to snap pictures, observe how they jump from tree to tree, and learn about their habits.
