Village and community walk
Through this fascinating pastime, visitors can experience a bit of Ugandan culture. You will encounter folks from several generations of the local population along the stroll and get a glimpse of their way of life.
You can visit their houses to watch them demonstrate a range of food preparation techniques, such as how to create beer and the local spirit from bananas, or how to use them for a kid’s drink. You can take pleasure in the customs of the local community through their songs and dances.
Tracking of gorillas
There is just one gorilla family in Mgahinga, the Nyatagagezi group, and this is the primary activity offered by the park. An orientation about gorilla rules takes place early in the morning before this activity begins. A park ranger will then divide you into groups of eight. Depending on their actions, the gorilla experience might last anywhere from thirty to seven hours. After being assigned, trackers get an hour to spend with the gorillas, during which they can observe how they eat, play, and construct their nests in the evening.
Tour of Batwa What a wonderful experience a safari trip to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park should not be missed. You can appreciate the old methods of life of the Batwa pygmies by visiting them. They spent more than three centuries living in the park, but in 1991, the government drove them out, greatly affecting efforts to protect the critically endangered mountain gorillas. These days, culture-loving tourists can visit them as they reside near the park.
Canoes on Lake Mulehe via boat The lodge, after all, looks out over a crater lake with breathtaking scenery that has existed for more than ten thousand years for you to enjoy. You will see the lake’s natural beauty and thousands of Uganda‘s national bird, the grey crown crested crane, among other species, when kayaking along the lake.
Observing birds Many bird species, including Pin-tailed whydah, Kivu ground thrush, Black kite, Dusky crimson wing, Speckled mousebird, and Ruwenzori turaco, can be seen during a birding day at Mgahinga National Park.
Climbing mountains – Mount Sabinyo Their slopes are covered in a series of varied vegetation that contributes to this breathtaking experience. Experience the regenerated farmland from bottom to top, then move on to heavier montane woodland, bamboo forest, Hagenia-hypercium forest, and windswept moorland with huge lobelias and groundsel. Each mountain’s top can be reached after hiking for eight to thirteen hours. Keep in mind that the ideal hike requires physical fitness.
