Nyakagezi Gorilla Group
Nyakagezi Gorilla Group: The sole family of gorillas living in the Mgahinga national park is the Nyakagezi gorilla group. Located in Uganda, the Mgahinga National Park is home to half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, which is endemic to that region of Africa.
Mountain gorillas, who have 98% of their DNA from bamboo trees and live in tropical rainforests, are among the endangered species.
Mgahinga is situated close to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwest Uganda. You will explore undulating hills and much more on your way to Mgahinga National Park, where you will meet the Nyakagezi gorilla tribe.
Unlike other national parks, the Mgahinga national park preserves eighty mountain gorillas. And there are only ten known migrants in this group. They continue to visit Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In 2012, the gang went back and settled at the park. Three silverbacks and ten members make up this group. In May 2013, the group announced the arrival of a new member, bringing the total number of members to 11.
Mark the silverback, who oversees and defends the Nyakagezi gorilla group, is in charge of it.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority’s Park headquarters is the only place to book gorilla permits for this family because they migrate frequently.
Visit the gorilla group for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that you won’t forget. You may spend an hour with the gorilla family and witness their daily routines in the wild, including playing, grooming, showing off their nests, and many other behaviors that everyone would want to witness with their human relatives.
