What safari activities are okay for pregnancy?

What safari activities are okay for pregnancy? For a variety of reasons, but chief among them being that we are not medical professionals, we are unable to determine the best course of action for a pregnant woman on a safari. The other thing we’ve learned from our life experiences is that every pregnancy is different and has a different impact on every individual. We also know that after the second trimester, it literally becomes difficult for any pregnant person to travel or even go on a safari, so we’re not sure what safari activities are safe for pregnant women.

But based on our knowledge and experience with safaris, we know that there are some safari activities that aren’t particularly taxing, and we believe that pregnant women can benefit most from them. Therefore, we will mention several activities in this post and allow you choose the one that is best for you.

Additionally, even though we are making recommendations, we would like to reiterate that we are not medical professionals and are not experts on safaris or pregnancy. For a more comprehensive picture and guidance, we advise you to speak with your doctor and other healthcare specialists before making any decisions.

Therefore, in our opinion, the safari activities that are not taxing are:

Drives for games

During game drives, you sit in a car and drive around the habitat of the wild animals while enjoying the comforts of your vehicle. In savannah parks, game drives are typically conducted to see lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, impalas, kobs, and many other creatures. Game drives are available in all 80% of East Africa’s national parks, which are home to savannah wildlife. Depending on the park, game drives are conducted in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Tracking lions

climbing trees Lion tracking, which is primarily conducted in the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda, is comparable to game drives with the exception that you are searching for a particular species of lion—the tree-climbing lion. The guide will use a tracker to locate the lions and then take you there while you remain comfortable in your vehicle. The nice thing is that you can still see the lions from the comfort of your car when you locate them.

Observing Birds

This activity involves observing birds from a specific location within the park or while on a game drive. Typically, you are in one place and use binoculars to see the birds, or you are driving around and seeing birds across the park.

Boat excursions

Sitting in a boat and taking a ride on a body of water while taking in the scenery, wildlife, and trees is an enjoyable activity. Typically, you spend the entire time sitting in the boat.

Nature hikes

Nature walks are strolls through a park or woodland for the sole purpose of taking in the scenery and flora. They are typically fairly leisurely strolls with no compulsion to do anything but take in the park’s beauty.

Cultural encounters and community visits

Among the experiences that take place outside of the park are community visits and cultural events, when you travel into the neighborhood and engage with the inhabitants. You can also participate in some of their activities, such as dancing, singing, eating, and having fun.
